I don't even know where to begin...
The past few weeks have been a wild ride. Let me cut to the chase... through a path only God could pave, we've been matched with a birth mom and are expecting a baby girl in the next 2 weeks! EEK! Unexpectedly, the adoption agency that we adopted Elliot through reached out to us to see if we would be interested in making a profile book to show to a birth mom that they had been having a hard time finding a family for. We took a little bit of time to talk it through with our family and friends, and decided to go for it! I will gladly fill you in on the details over the coming days and weeks, but for now, we need your help!! We have been saving our money to pay for our next adoption, but this is SO much sooner than we were anticipating and adoption is expensive.
Typically, domestic infant adoption costs anywhere between $30,000 to $40,000, including the home study, counseling for potential birth parents and adoptive parents, medical expenses, and foster care, if needed. We are really thankful to say that our agency provides amazing services for birth parents and adoptive parents. Our estimated adoption costs will be around $35,000 ... not to mention all of the baby stuff (car seat, formula, clothes, diapers, etc) that we will need on top of the adoption costs.
With that in mind, we are officially launching a fundraiser to help us bring home our baby girl! We have purchased a beautiful, custom made, wooden heart box (similar to the one in the picture) from a shop on Etsy. The shop has agreed to send us the middle part with her name and birthday after the she is born. As for the frame and hearts, they should be headed to our house very soon!
Each heart is "for sale" for a $25 (or more) donation. With a humble heart we are asking you to be generous! Yes, $25 will get you a heart, but so will $50 or $500 or WHATEVER generous amount you are able to give. There is nothing more precious than the new life that this money is going help bring into our family. When you donate, we will add your name to a heart. The box will hang in the baby's room and be a constant reminder of the people who helped play a part in bringing this new little love into our family!
If you'd like to have your name on a heart, you can send us a donation to "buy a heart" that will go towards the adoption costs and we will add your name to the overflowing hearts box. Since the donations will be coming directly to us, they will not be tax deductible. Thanks in advance for your support! We are thrilled to share this journey with you!
You can donate through Venmo (@AmandaStewart314) or PayPal (click on the link below). If you'd rather send us a donation by check, just e-mail me at [email protected] and I will give you our mailing address.
