For the last six years, Jeremy has spent this time of the year getting ready for the new school year. It started out with organizing classrooms, planning lessons, attending professional development meetings, and probably a lot more more that I have since forgotten. This year and last year, he is an administrator at his school, so now he is the one planning professional developments, helping teachers, making student schedules and a lot more! It's always a very busy and exciting time of year.
This year, I will be going to school also. I have left my job as a floor nurse at the local hospital and will be working as a school nurse this year. I am so excited about this change and am really looking forward to being at one of the local elementary schools. I have already been working at my new school a few days each week for the last 3 weeks, but this week I will be there all. five. days. Now, for those of you with normal, non-nursing jobs, this is no big deal, but for me, working 8 hours, 5 days a week hasn't been the norm for me for almost 5 years. While I am so excited to be joining the world of school nursing, I am a little nervous about waking up to an alarm 5 days a week. ;) I'm sure it will be fine... Jeremy is the ultimate morning person, so hopefully he will help me get used to this new routine. I do have to say, when I worked at the hospital I worked "12 hour shifts" that were usually closer to 13 or 14 hour shifts, so leaving that for an 8 hour day will be pretty nice and a much better fit for our family, as a whole.
